OCA Students Qualify for National Finals of Chidon HaTanach

Ohr Chadash Academy (OCA) is proud to announce that 8th Graders Alina Rosen and Racheli Schwarzenberger recently qualified to participate in the national finals of the Chidon HaTanach competition in New York on May 1. The Chidon HaTanach is sponsored by the Jewish Agency and is open to students in grades 6-11. OCA is registered in the highly competitive Hebrew Middle School division of the Chidon HaTanach for schools that learn and master the text in Lashon HaKodesh.

Under the guidance of Rabbi Mordechai Abrahams, six dedicated OCA middle school students worked hard to learn all of Sefer Bereishit, the majority of Melachim Aleph, and select perakim from Tehillim.

At the national finals, Alina and Racheli along with more than 100 students will take further tests and celebrate their knowledge of these sefarim. The top four students will represent the U.S. in the International Chidon HaTanach competition next summer.

OCA is thrilled that for the fourth consecutive year two of its students qualified for the national finals. Hatzlacha Rabbah to Alina and Racheli!
