Yirmiyahu 49 – Edom/ Rome/ The Western World
byRabbi Motzen

Yirmiyahu chapter 49 opens with Ammon, Israel’s neighbor and relative through Lot, taken to task for seizing the land of Gad after its tribes went into exile. The rest of the chapter turns to Edom, a nation with a long history of conflict with Israel, which joined in the destruction of the first Beis HaMikdash. Following the Abarbanel, we look at why most of the chapter is about what Edom came to symbolize – Rome, Christianity, and the Western world – and the prophecy that before the end of days the nations will be called to battle the heirs of Edom. Part of an ongoing series through Sefer Yirmiyahu.

You Don’t Know My Whole Story | With Hindy & Coco
byTziri Preis

You see someone smiling, going on trips, getting something new. You think, “She has the best life.”

But do you know her whole story?

Ten-year-old Hindy joins Morah Tziri and special co-host Ahuva, with her very cuddly dog Coco, for a conversation that starts with funny dog stories and takes us somewhere much deeper.

Hindy shares openly about her parents’ divorce, life between two homes, and the feelings other people don’t always see. We talk about taking kids seriously, writing things out, knowing when you need someone to talk to, and being kind because you know what it feels like to struggle.

There’s plenty of laughter, a little dog matchmaking, and a reminder we could all use: there’s so much more to a person than what you see on the outside.

For every kid who’s ever thought, “You don’t know what I’m going through,” this one’s for you. 🤍

A note for parents: This episode includes a child’s personal experience of divorce, parental disagreements, and difficult emotions.
