BJL: Exciting times as we feature Ateres Elka Gown Rental! I’m thrilled to be sitting with the dynamic duo, Aliza Jessurun & Hindy Leeder. Welcome, ladies!

So, tell us about your roles in this new undertaking!

Ateres Elka: Well, we are the passionate volunteers and friendly faces of this project, going above and beyond to help anyone on their quest to find the perfect gown.

And how did you find yourselves in the world of gown rentals?

AJ: It all began when Rabbi Kleiner approached me to start up this much needed service in the community. I saw this as a great opportunity to contribute to the community in a meaningful way. 

HL: Aliza shared her excitement about the project with me, and instantly, I was sold! I wanted to be part of this meaningful endeavor.

Your goal for the Shoppe sounds intriguing. Can you share it with us?

AJ: Absolutely! We are on a mission to revolutionize the gown rental process. We strive to provide a personalized and stress-free experience for our brides-to-be and their families. Moreover, our selection extends beyond gowns; we also offer veils and petticoats, making our store the ultimate one-stop-shop.

Wow, that’s amazing! Can you tell us more about your service?

HL: Of course! Ateres Elka offers a stunning variety of bridal and family gowns. We have an extensive range of sizes and styles, ensuring everyone finds their dream gown. Plus, we’re always on top of fashion trends and are eagerly preparing for the 2024 season.

And how long has the Shoppe been dressing brides and their families?

HL: We’ve been adding sparkle to people’s lives for a little over a year now.

That’s fantastic! What has the community response been like?

AJ: It’s been a wonderful journey. We’ve had the pleasure of helping many brides, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! Families love the convenience of a local boutique—no need for tedious trips to Lakewood or New York. They can take their gowns home the same day, and our talented seamstress is on hand for alterations. Our commitment to quick and supportive service makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

And where can people find you?

HL: We’re located on the lower level of Ateres Elka. And guess what? We’re currently transforming the space to bring you an even more upscale shopping experience!

Gowns can be pretty pricey. How do you manage to sustain and grow your business?

HL: We are blessed to have the support of generous benefactors. Their unwavering commitment enables us to offer this invaluable service to our community.

Can you paint a picture of what a bridal appointment looks like?

AJ: Our bridal appointments are an immersive experience. They can take up to three hours as we hone in on each bride’s unique personality and tailor the appointment for them. And we’re full of advice too—wigs, housewares, you name it!

What a wonderful service you provide! Any common misconceptions you’d like to clear up?

AJ: One, is that your event must be at Ateres Elka to rent from us. This is not the case. No matter the location of your wedding, you’re welcome to rent from us. We’ve served brides from all over the country and are always delighted to assist everyone.

Another misconception is that we only offer bridal gowns. On the contrary, we have a collection of gowns for the whole family!
